Hot Summer Night
So it is summer, and HOT here in the Central Valley! And while most are hiding behind their curtains with air conditioning on full blast, we went out with the Rodriguez family to get some shots of the kids.
It is always fun shooting someone you have a history with, but we love to get out with new people and see what kind of personalities emerge. We stopped off at the park for a couple of “warm up” shots to help work out the jitters. The goal is to get everyone comfortable in front of the camera, and after a turn on the swings, they all seemed to relax a bit. The youngest enjoyed a couple of turns on the slide before we took my personal favorite, the picture of the four of them under the tree.
We then enticed our family out by the river to take some sunset photos. These kids were troopers! It was a very “buggy” night (for lack of a better term) but they got out there, relaxed and took some great photos. As the time wore on, their own distinct style came out in the way they held themselves, their tilt of the head and their smiles. As we were taking the last pictures, they ended the shoot with an arm wrestling match. I am not sure who won, but I don’t think it mattered, as they just seemed to be enjoying being together.
Thank you so much to the Rodriguez family! We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we did taking them!
